Squashed

This grouping of six squash is squashing the smallest specimen in the group. In some families, the youngest, or most different from the family system is squashed out. Not necessarily physically but certainly emotionally. When that child grows up, they naturally seek environments, including work environments, where they are at the very least disregarded, disrespected, dismissed. They do this because it's familiar and normal to them.

Cast Jesmonite (crushed marble and crushed glass) with mineral stain. This grouping fills a space of approximately 24 X 24 inches. It's a wall hanging.
